Message from the founder

Thank you for being a part of the "cat club".
Community Cat Club is endlessly grateful to our fosters, supports, volunteers, and donors who keep our mission not just growing but thriving. Please consider joining our mission by signing up to foster or volunteer. We strive to be a supportive and collaborative experience for our volunteers. Let's be the difference we want to see in our communities for cats everywhere.

Ready to change a cat's life?
If you want to help Community Cat Club make an impactful change and assist in our effort to save feline lives, open up your home to a foster.

Fostering allows our organization to expand our reach and help more cats in need. It is a wonderful experience for any cat lover and you can foster at a pace that works for you. Even if you can only temporality foster while another foster is on vacation, there is always a way to help.

Fostering is an enriching and rewarding experience for you and for your foster.  You will have a direct impact on cats in immediate placement need!
  • A young mom cat can have a calm environment to safely raise her babies
  • Kittens can thrive and reach their growth milestones
  • Spicy kittens can learn to trust and love
  • Friendly outdoor cats can leave the outdoor life behind and find love in a forever home
  • Rescues can have more resources to take in special cases and expand TNR to end this cycle
Every cat and their personality will be different.
A new cat coming into a home may be scared, stressed, or anxious. Others may feel ready to socialize for attention immediately or be very active. As a foster, providing a calm place for the cat to decompress and adjust to a new environment sets them up for success.

During your time as a foster, you will be expected to provide proper shelter, basic care, and socializing. Our organization covers all medical expenses and can cover food costs or items if requested. You will need to bring your foster cat, if applicable, to any requested medical appointments that prepare the cat for a forever home.

We have a private facebook group for all our foster to socialize with each other, post cats in need of fostering, and share foster photos. You will have the opportunity to pick a foster cat that you feel is best for your lifestyle and experience level.

Open communication with our foster team is encouraged and will help make your experience positive.
Here are some general things to keep in mind when you choose to foster.
After you fill out a foster application, our foster coordinator will contact you to discuss. Our team can also guide you on how to setup for a new foster in your household.
  • Foster cats need to be kept separate from other animals for two weeks to monitor health and ensure no illness.
  • Introductions to new people and pets should be slow.
  • Fosters should respond timely to communications about upcoming vet visits, events, or adoption meets.
  • Kittens should not have free roam while you are not home due to safety.
  • Our team should be contacted immediately in the event of medical distress or behavioral issues.
  • Some cats may be under socialized, if you feel you cannot meet their socialization needs after spending time with your foster, it is important to contact our team. This is especially important for kittens.
  • Any potential adopter needs to be screened by our volunteers before being placed by the foster.
  • You are welcome to adopt your foster, but they remain the ownership of Community Cat Club until an adoption contract is signed

Even when I can't foster, there have been so many ways to help local cats through Community Cat Club. From events to transport or personal skills, they always appreciate any help. Their team is transparent and keeps open communication online with their volunteers. I love volunteering with this group and always recommend them to friends for adoption. Thank you for building a wonderful community.

Fostering for CCC allows me to provide a temporary home for a feline in need while providing a forever chance of love. CCC is a great group of people that are easy to volunteer with and always ready to support their team and help the community cats. I'm happy to be part of it all.

Volunteering with Community Cat Club has been my own personal dream come true.
Picture
I was the kid who would stay behind from the group to walk with the old dog who couldn’t keep up, the kid who would sit in a room for hours with a cat as they slept on my lap. As an adult I found myself in the corporate world, but I remained very aware of where my heart belonged. Not only has CCC allowed me the opportunity to fulfill that part of myself, but they’ve shown me how it can be done with the fullest compassion and the highest standard of care.

I’m so proud when I’m able to tell people I’m associated with CCC because they do cat rescue right: From TNR to socialization to adoption, every step is led by a team of volunteers who were once these kids, going the extra mile in our adult lives for the cats who need us the most. The level of care I consistently see provided to these little ones, both medically and socially, reassures me each time I volunteer at an adoption center or help coordinate a kitty’s furrever home that I’m in the right place with the right people at the right organization. - Rachel, CCC Volunteer
